The song was recorded in the main room of the recording studio Estudio Uno in Madrid and mixed by Manuel Colmenero at the Sonobox studios in Madrid; these songs have been produced by Spanish artist Juanma Latorre (Vetusta Morla) in a hand-in-hand work together with Ede to polish songs that are helping us to discover the essence of this artist.
As she points out about this song: "La Raíz [The Root] is like some kind of a need of a prayer, a mantra with myself. Musically it is simpler and calmer than the rest of my songs, but it is one of the most intimate and profound that I have written. In this song I sing about a genuine response to what is heard so much these days, those "you can handle everything" and all that imposed positivism. La Raíz is that place that we all carry inside, in which it is not necessary to be strong or powerful with everything, where vulnerability is not a weakness and where I personally find the real strength that drives me. "
At the beginning of this year Ede appeared as a duet singer with Spanish indie artist Xoel López in the song "Alma de Oro", which the artist released as the first preview of her next work. This collaboration did not come out of nowhere, since Ede had already been part of the Xoel's band on his last tour "Sueños y Pan". In addition, she continues to be very present in the emerging music scene in Madrid, collaborating and working on different projects that will gradually see the light in the upcoming months.
