The Madrid duo Taburete has joined forces with Jenny and The Mexicats to create a new version of the band’s song “Sin tus Estrellas” [Without your stars]. It is an impressive fusion of Guillermo Bárcenas and Jenny Ball’s voice, which fit marvelously. Der Mexicats-Klassiker „Labios“ findet sich im Soundtrack des neuen Films von Erfolgsregisseur Sönke Wortmann: „Der Nachname“ kommt am
20.10.22 in die Kinos, ist die Fortsetzung des Kinohits „Der Vorname“ und mit Iris Berben, Caroline Peters, Janina Uhse, Justus von Dohnányi, Florian David Fitz und Christoph Maria Herbst hervorragend besetzt.

Im Film ist die Original-Version von Labios zu hören. Die Freude über diese Beteiligung hat bei den Mexicats dazu geführt, dass die Band eine
weitere Version des Songs mit englischem Refrain realisiert hat, die zunächst exklusiv im deutschsprachigen Raum als Single veröffentlicht wird.

Außerdem ist diese "English Version" auf der soeben veröffentlichten Vinyl-Version des aktuellen Albums "Fiesta Ancestral" als Bonus Track zu finden. 

The story of the Mexican-British-Spanish band Jenny and The Mexicats began in the hot summer of 2008 in Madrid (Spain). La Roja, Spain’s national football team, was on his way to win the UEFA European Championship. Jenny was around—and she had already been playing as a singer and trumpeter in her country for some years—when she decided to accept the invitation of the bassman Icho to join the band. He had already contacted his old Mexican fellow Pantera, an exceptional flamenco-rockabilly guitarist, with whom Icho had played in a punk band in Mexico City. And in turn, Pantera introduced David, a great percussionist with the Cajon among other marvelous things, to the Mexicats. They jammed and rehearsed together and they soon came to the conclusion that they wanted to continue playing as a band.
